Phil Godfrey receives Governor’s volunteer award

Governor Ted Kulongoski acknowledged in September what Marion-Polk Food Share has known for a year and a half — Phil Godfrey is a commendable volunteer.
Phil, who had recently retired when he started volunteering at MPFS in March 2009, has earned the Governor’s Outstanding Senior Volunteer regional award. His dedication, leadership and positive, can-do attitude are duly recognized as exemplary. Read more

Extreme Canned Food Drive now under way
Oregon School for the Deaf feeds minds, families Oregon School for the Deaf partnered with Marion-Polk Food Share five years ago and began in a small garden plot. Now, with a grant from Oregon Youth Conservation Corps, vision- and hearing-imparied students have an opportunity to gain job skills and work experience with two crews in five gardens.
