How can I help

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing.

Are you smarter than a fifth grader?
How about a first grader?

One of the questions we often pose to school groups visiting Marion-Polk Food Share is, “Whose job is it to end hunger?” No matter what their age, the children usually get the answer right, without missing a heartbeat.

IT IS OUR JOB. ALL OF US: a community, a nation, a world, standing shoulder to shoulder to make sure that no one goes without nutritious food to eat.

Our Community Apple Corps volunteers--community leaders, businesses, churches, clubs, and civic organizations--are uniquely positioned to make a major impact in our fight to end hunger. By scheduling team building service at the Food Share, groups can come together to do super-sorts in our warehouse; staff food drives or information booths; spruce up our facility and grounds; or make short work of special events projects requiring many hands.
