We Need Your Voice: Community Cafés in Woodburn

By Published On: October 24th, 2016

Neighbors in Woodburn are invited to attend a community café to discuss how to bring more healthy affordable food to all community members. At the community café participants will gather for a dinner and table conversations about their experiences and challenges with getting food for their families day-to-day.

The first one will be held in English on Wednesday, November 2nd from 5:00-6:30 pm at the Woodburn Public Library (280 Garfield Street). The second community café will be in Spanish on Monday, November 7th from 5:00-6:30 pm at the Woodburn Public Library (280 Garfield Street).

Questions asked will be: Where and how do you get food for your family? What does a typical shopping trip look like? Do you have any challenges to buying healthy, affordable food?

  • How does transportation affect your family’s ability to get healthy food?
  • What does a “hunger-free” Woodburn look like?
  • What might make getting food easier for you?

While childcare will not be provided, children are welcome to come. We will have an activity table for children.

We hope to see you there. Please RSVP to Lexi Stickel at 503-581-3855 or by email .
