The Galley Clipper service group from Westminster Presbyterian Church is serious about food. This jovial bunch of volunteers helps out at Marion-Polk Food Share on a monthly basis and they’ve been doing it for around seven years.

On a recent second Thursday of the month, the volunteers helped repack 1,700 pounds of frozen peas. They also volunteer at the Queen of Peace Table of Plenty food pantry in South Salem where they say they often will see the food they’ve repackaged at MPFS going into the emergency food boxes that families in need receive. Table of Plenty is one of MPFS’s 97 hunger-fighting partners.

When Spring Break rolls around, Galley Clipper members can be seen volunteering at No Hungry Child Spring Break Lunch Program sites. They also help out at Meals on Wheels.

We so appreciate the dedication of this wonderful group of people to feeding hungry neighbors!
