American Family Insurance is helping Marion Polk Food Share alleviate food insecurity in our region. The company has provided a $10,000 grant to support Retail Food Recovery program efforts.
The collection of nutritious foods from local grocers provides about one-third of the food supply that is distributed by Food Share hunger-relief partners. Retail Food Recovery provides access to highly desirable produce, meat, dairy and deli products, and more.
This grant will help us to support and expand our Retail Agency Direct program, which keeps food fresh and local. RAD partners pick up foods from grocers in their community and immediately distribute it to local families seeking food assistance.
