This free training is a great opportunity for youth 13-18 years old (7th-11th graders) interested in learning how to grow healthy, fresh, sustainable food for themselves and their community.
Over the course of this short training program, teens will learn the principles of organic farming, be introduced to commonly used farm tools, understand the basics of the work flow of the Youth Farm, and learn to work as a member of a tight-knit team.
Participants can choose to attend either session one or session two. Homemade lunch will be provided at all classes. For any teens interested in the Youth Farm’s summer program, this is the first step.
Registration is required.
Session one: Saturday, February 22nd and Saturday, February 29th, 9:30am-2:30pm
Session two: Saturday, March 7th & Saturday, March 14th, 9:30am-2:30pm
