“It’s both an honor to join the board and an opportunity to advocate for rural food pantries within the Food Share network. It’s amazing what a belly full of good food can do to improve a person’s well-being, and, in turn, improve the overall health of our communities.”
Sarah DeSantis joined the Marion-Polk Food Share Board of Directors in 2018.
She is currently the Executive Director of Silverton Area Community Aid, a non-profit that is a member of the Food Share network.
Her previous roles included being a business and policy analyst for various State of Oregon agencies. She’s also worked in social services as an advocate for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Sarah was born and raised in Silverton and chose to move back to her hometown about 10 years ago, after teaching English aboard.
Sarah and her husband, Matt, have two young sons. She enjoys gardening, cooking and baking.
