Marion-Polk Food Share values your participation and support and is committed to protecting your privacy. We maintain strict donor information privacy policies, and take great care to ensure that your information is not compromised by unauthorized persons.

We do not sell, exchange, or rent your personal information to any organization or individual, and we do not send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.

What information do we collect?

When you make a donation, volunteer, or schedule a food donation or barrel, the Food Share may ask you for your name, address, email address, and telephone number, as well as other relevant information (e.g. hours available to volunteer).

How do we use your information?

Marion-Polk Food Share uses non-identifying basic information (aggregate data) to analyze website use and to improve the content and design of the site. On occasion, we may share aggregate data with sponsors, partners, and other third-party vendors to encourage fundraising.

Marion-Polk Food Share uses personally identifiable information you provide about yourself: a) to respond to your questions or comments about our services; b) to fulfill requests to volunteer or conduct a food drive; c) to process your donation, verify your credit card and send you a tax-deductible receipt; d) confirm a donation; e) to thank you; f) to send you additional information about programs, services and needs that we believe will interest you; g) to protect the security or integrity of the site; h) to protect against a threat of safety or destruction of property; and i) to protect against legal liability.

The Food Share may disclose to third parties aggregated statistics about donations and volunteers (e.g., total number of donors, total amount of donations for specific periods, average gift size, and total number of volunteers for specific projects or events). These statistics will not include any personal or identifying information.

A third party handles Marion-Polk Food Share’s online credit card verification process. This organization needs your name, address, credit card number and expiration date to process your transaction. Its state-of-the-art firewalls and encryption technology offer the highest level of security to ensure the confidentiality of your transaction.

Marion-Polk Food Share will not use personal information in any way other than described in this policy. Marion-Polk Food Share requires employees, agents and contractors who have access to personal information to protect information consistent with this Privacy Policy.
