Volunteers Needed for Spring Break Lunch

By Published On: March 9th, 2017

Spring break is a week that most children look forward to with excitement.  For some children, spring break may be a week of hunger and boredom.  Marion Polk Food Share is seeking volunteers to help in Silverton, Mt. Angel and Jefferson to give children the Spring Break that they deserve with fun and educational activities and free lunches Monday, March 27 through Friday, March 31.

The spring break lunch program, called SuperFunHappyBreakTime, serves a free nutritious lunch to anyone ages 1 – 18, in addition to offering fun activities and free books for children and families.

Volunteers are needed to serve lunch and lead activities at Mark Twin Elementary School in Silverton, St. Mary’s Elementary School in Mt. Angel and Jefferson Elementary School in Jefferson.

All volunteers must pass a background check and have or be able to get a food handlers card. Volunteers must be available between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at least one day during the week of spring break.

If you would like to give local children a wonderful spring break, please contact Marion Polk Food Share by calling 503-581-3855, e-mailing or visiting www.MarionPolkFoodShare.org.
